Unto the end, among psalms, a song ascribed to David. Unto the end, among psalms, a song ascribed to David.

1 Hear me when I call, Oh my righteousness God: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer.

2 Oh you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame? how long will you love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah.

2 Υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι;
ἵνα τί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα, καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος;
2 υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων, ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι;
ἱνατί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος;
2 Oh you sons of men, how long will you be heavy-hearted? Why do you love vanity, and seek falsehood?
Musical pause.
2 Oh you sons of men, how long will you be heavy-hearted? Why do you love vanity, and seek falsehood?
(Musical pause.)

3 But know that the LORD has set apart him who is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

5 Sacrifice the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord. 5 Sacrifice the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.

6 There be many who say, Who will show us any good? LORD, lift up the light of your countenance upon us.

6 Πολλοὶ λέγουσιν, τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά;
6 πολλοὶ λέγουσι· τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά;
6 Many keep saying,
Who will show us good things?

The light of your face, Oh Lord, has been manifested upon us.

6 Many keep saying,
Who will show us good things?

The light of your face, Oh Lord, has been manifested upon us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their grain and their wine increased.

7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil. 7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for you, LORD, only make me dwell in safety.

8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely. 8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep: for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely.
