A Song of degrees of David. 1 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say;
שִׁ֥יר הַֽמַּעֲלֹ֗ות לְדָ֫וִ֥ד לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ יֹֽאמַר־נָ֝א יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
| 1 [ᾨδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν.] Εἰ μὴ ὅτι κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν, εἰπάτω δὴ Ἰσραήλ, | 1 ᾨδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν. — εἰ μή ὅτι Κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν, εἰπάτω δὴ Ἰσραήλ· |

2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us;
לוּלֵ֣י יְ֭הוָה שֶׁהָ֣יָה לָ֑נוּ בְּק֖וּם עָלֵ֣ינוּ אָדָֽם׃
| 2 εἰ μὴ ὅτι κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ἐπαναστῆναι ἀνθρώπους ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς, | 2 εἰ μὴ ὅτι Κύριος ἦν ἐν ἡμῖν ἐν τῷ ἐπαναστῆναι ἀνθρώπους ἐφ’ ἡμᾶς, |

3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us;
אֲ֭זַי חַיִּ֣ים בְּלָע֑וּנוּ בַּחֲרֹ֖ות אַפָּ֣ם בָּֽנוּ׃

4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul;
אֲ֭זַי הַמַּ֣יִם שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ נַ֝֗חְלָה עָבַ֥ר עַל־נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃
| 4 ἄρα τὸ ὕδωρ κατεπόντισεν ἡμᾶς, χείμαρρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν· | 4 ἄρα τὸ ὕδωρ ἄν κατεπόντισεν ἡμᾶς, χείμαρρον διῆλθεν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμῶν· |

5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
אֲ֭זַי עָבַ֣ר עַל־נַפְשֵׁ֑נוּ הַ֝מַּ֗יִם הַזֵּֽידֹונִֽים׃

6 Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as a prey to their teeth.
בָּר֥וּךְ יְהוָ֑ה שֶׁלֹּ֥א נְתָנָ֥נוּ טֶ֝֗רֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶֽם׃

נַפְשֵׁ֗נוּ כְּצִפֹּ֥ור נִמְלְטָה֮ מִפַּ֪ח יֹ֫וקְשִׁ֥ים הַפַּ֥ח נִשְׁבָּ֗ר וַאֲנַ֥חְנוּ נִמְלָֽטְנוּ׃
