Psalm 13
(LXX 12)

AlexandrinusVaticanus

To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

For the end, a Psalm of David. For the end, a Psalm of David.

1 How long will you forget me, Oh LORD? for ever? how long will you hide your face from me?

1 Ἕως πότε κύριε ἐπιλήσῃ μου, εἰς τέλος;
ἕως πότε ἀποστρέψεις τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ;
1 ἕως πότε, Κύριε, ἐπιλήσῃ μου εἰς τέλος;
ἕως πότε ἀποστρέψεις τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ;
1 How long, Oh Lord, will you forget me — for ever? How long will you turn your face from me? 1 How long, Oh Lord, will you forget me — for ever? How long will you turn your face from me?

2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

2 ἕως τίνος θήσομαι βουλὰς ἐν ψυχῇ μου, ὀδύνας ἐν καρδίᾳ μου ἡμέρας;
ἕως πότε ὑψωθήσεται ἐχθρός μου ἐπ’ ἐμέ;
2 ἕως τίνος θήσομαι βουλὰς ἐν ψυχῇ μου, ὀδύνας ἐν καρδίᾳ μου ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός;
ἕως πότε ὑψωθήσεται ἐχθρός μου ἐπ’ ἐμέ;
2 Until when shall I make plans in my soul, pains in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? 2 Until when shall I make plans in my soul, pains in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?

3 Consider and hear me, Oh LORD my God; lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;

4 Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

4 lest my enemy says,
I have prevailed against him.

While oppressing me, they rejoice if I should be shaken.

4 lest my enemy says,
I have prevailed against him.

While oppressing me, they rejoice if I should be shaken.

5 But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

5 But I had confidence in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. 5 But I had confidence in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.

6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he has dealt bountifully with me.

6 I will sing to the Lord who benefited me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high. 6 I will sing to the Lord who benefited me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high.
