1:2 Ἀβραὰμ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰσαάκ, Ἰσαὰκ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰακώβ, Ἰακὼβ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰούδαν καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, 2 Ἀβραὰμ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰσαάκ·

1:6 Ἰεσσαὶ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Δαυὶδ τὸν βασιλέα.

1:7 Σολομὼν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ῥοβοάμ, Ῥοβοὰμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀβιά, Ἀβιὰ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀσάφ, 7 Σολομὼν δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ῥοβοάμ·

1:8 Ἀσὰφ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσαφάτ, Ἰωσαφὰτ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωράμ, Ἰωράμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ὀζίαν, 8 Ἀσὰ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰωσαφάτ·

Ἰωράμ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ὀζίαν·
Then Asaf fathered Jōsafat, Jōsafat fathered Jōram, and Jōram fathered Ozia. And Asa fathered Jōsafat; and Jōsafat fathered Jōram; and Jōram fathered Ozia;
1:9 Ὀζίας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωαθάμ, Ἰωαθὰμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀχάζ, Ἀχὰζ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἑζεκίαν, 9 Ὀζίας δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰωάθαμ·

1:10 Ἑζεκίας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Μανασσῆ, Μανασσῆς δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀμώς, Ἀμὼς δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσίαν, 10 Ἑζεκίας δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Μανασσῆ·
Μανασσῆς δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀμών·
Ἀμὼν δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰωσίαν·
Then Hezekia fathered Manassē, Manassē fathered Amōs, and Amōs fathered Jōsia. And Hezekia fathered Manassē; and Manassē fathered Amōn; and Amōn fathered Jōsia;
1:11 Ἰωσίας δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰεχονίαν καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος. 11 Ἰωσίας δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰεχονίαν καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, ἐπὶ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος.
Then Jōsia fathered Jechonia and his brothers, at the time of the deportation to Babylōn. And Jōsia fathered Jechonia and his brothers, about the time they were carried away to Babylōn:
1:12 Μετὰ δὲ τὴν μετοικεσίαν Βαβυλῶνος Ἰεχονίας ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαλαθιήλ, Σαλαθιὴλ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ζοροβαβέλ, 12 Μετὰ δὲ τὴν μετοικεσίαν Βαβυλῶνος, Ἰεχονίας ἐγέννησε τὸν Σαλαθιήλ·
Σαλαθιὴλ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ζοροβάβελ·
After the deportation to Babylōn: Jechonia fathered Salathiēl, and Salathiēl fathered Zorobabel. And after they were brought to Babylōn, Jechonia fathered Salathiēl; and Salathiēl fathered Zorobabel;
1:13 Ζοροβαβὲλ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀβιούδ, Ἀβιοὺδ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἐλιακίμ, Ἐλιακὶμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀζώρ, 13 Ζοροβάβελ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀβιούδ·
Ἀβιοὺδ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἐλιακείμ·
Ἐλιακεὶμ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀζώρ·

1:14 Ἀζὼρ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Σαδώκ, Σαδὼκ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἀχίμ, Ἀχὶμ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἐλιούδ, 14 Ἀζὼρ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Σαδώκ·
Σαδὼκ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἀχείμ·
Ἀχεὶμ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἐλιούδ·
Then Azōr fathered Sadōk, Sadōk fathered Achim, and Achim fathered Elioud. And Azor fathered Sadōk; and Sadōk fathered Acheim; and Acheim fathered Elioud;
1:15 Ἐλιοὺδ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἐλεάζαρ, Ἐλεάζαρ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ματθάν, Ματθὰν δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰακώβ, 15 Ἐλιοὺδ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἐλεάζαρ·
Ἐλεάζαρ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ματθάν·
Ματθὰν δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰακώβ·
Then Elioud fathered Eleazar, Eleazar fathered Matthan, and Matthan fathered Jacōb. And Elioud fathered Eleazar; and Eleazar fathered Matthan; and Matthan fathered Jacōb;
1:16 Ἰακὼβ δὲ ἐγέννησεν τὸν Ἰωσὴφ τὸν ἄνδρα Μαρίας, ἐξ ἧς ἐγεννήθη Ἰησοῦς ὁ λεγόμενος Χριστός. 16 Ἰακὼβ δὲ ἐγέννησε τὸν Ἰωσὴφ τὸν ἄνδρα Μαρίας, ἐξ ἧς ἐγεννήθη Ἰησοῦς ὁ λεγόμενος Χριστός.
Then Jacōb fathered Jōsēf the husband of Mary, by whom Jesus was born, who is called Christ. And Jacōb fathered Jōsēf the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
1:17 πᾶσαι οὖν αἱ γενεαὶ ἀπὸ Ἀβραὰμ ἕως Δαυὶδ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες, καὶ ἀπὸ Δαυὶδ ἕως τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες, καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος ἕως τοῦ Χριστοῦ γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες. 17 πᾶσαι οὖν αἱ γενεαὶ ἀπὸ Ἀβραὰμ ἕως Δαβὶδ, γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες·
καὶ ἀπὸ Δαβὶδ ἕως τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος, γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες·
καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς μετοικεσίας Βαβυλῶνος ἕως τοῦ Χριστοῦ, γενεαὶ δεκατέσσαρες.
So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; from David to the deportation to Babylōn, fourteen generations; and from the deportation to Babylōn to the Christ, fourteen generations. So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the deportation to Babylōn fourteen generations; and from the deporatation to Babylōn to Christ fourteen generations.
1:18 Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἡ γένεσις οὕτως ἦν.
μνηστευθείσης τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Μαρίας τῷ Ἰωσήφ, πρίν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτοὺς εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου. 		18 Τοῦ δὲ Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ ἡ γένεσις οὕτως ἦν.
μνηστευθείσης γὰρ τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ Μαρίας τῷ Ἰωσήφ, πρίν ἢ συνελθεῖν αὐτοὺς, εὑρέθη ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα ἐκ πνεύματος ἁγίου.
Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: when his mother Mary was engaged to Jōsēf, before they came together she was found to be pregnant by the Holy Spirit. Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: For when his mother Mary was engaged to Jōsēf, before they came together, she was found pregnant of the Holy Spirit.
1:19 Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς, δίκαιος, ὢν καὶ μὴ θέλων αὐτὴν δειγματίσαι ἐβουλήθη λάθρᾳ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν. 19 Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ὁ ἀνὴρ αὐτῆς, δίκαιος ὢν, καὶ μὴ θέλων αὐτὴν παραδειγματίσαι, ἐβουλήθη λάθρᾳ ἀπολῦσαι αὐτήν.

τὸ γὰρ ἐν αὐτῇ γεννηθὲν ἐκ πνεύματός ἐστιν ἁγίου. 		20 ταῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ ἐνθυμηθέντος, ἰδοὺ, ἄγγελος κυρίου κατ᾿ ὄναρ ἐφάνη αὐτῷ, λέγων, Ἰωσὴφ, υἱὸς Δαβίδ, μὴ φοβηθῇς παραλαβεῖν Μαριὰμ τὴν γυναῖκά σου·
τὸ γὰρ ἐν αὐτῇ γεννηθὲν ἐκ πνεύματός ἐστιν ἁγίου.
But when he had considered this, look! an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Jōsēf, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for in her is born of the Holy Spirit. 1:21 τέξεται δὲ υἱόν, καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν·
αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν. 		21 τέξεται δὲ υἱόν, καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰησοῦν·
αὐτὸς γὰρ σώσει τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν αὐτῶν.

“Look! the virgin shall be pregnant and shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call his name Emmanouēl,”[1] which is translated, “God with us.” “Look! the virgin shall be pregnant and shall give birth to a Son, and they shall call his name Emmanouēl,”[1] which is translated, “God with us.”
1:24 ἐγερθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕπνου ἐποίησεν ὡς προσέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου καὶ παρέλαβεν τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ, 24 διεγερθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕπνου ἐποίησεν ὡς προσέταξεν αὐτῷ ὁ ἄγγελος κυρίου·
καὶ παρέλαβε τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ,

and he didn’t know her until she gave birth to a Son; and he called his name Jesus. and he didn’t know her until she gave birth to her firstborn Son; and he called his name Jesus.
