Psalm 10
(LXX 9:21-38)
| Alexandrinus | Vaticanus |

1 Why do you stand afar off, Oh LORD? why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?
| 1 Why do you stand far off, Oh Lord; are you overlooking us in opportune times in affliction? | 1 Why do you stand far off, Oh Lord; are you overlooking us in opportune times in affliction? |
2 The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
| 2 When the impious acts arrogantly, the poor is set on fire; they are caught in the plans which they planned. | 2 When the impious acts arrogantly, the poor is set on fire; they are caught in the plans which they planned. |
3 For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire, and blesses the covetous, whom the LORD abhors.
| 3 Because the sinner praises himself for the lust of his soul; and the one who is unjust blesses himself. | 3 Because the sinner praises himself for the lust of his soul; and the one who is unjust blesses himself. |
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, won’t seek after God; God is not in all his thoughts.
| 4 The sinner provoked the Lord; according to the abundance of his anger he won’t seek after him; God is not before him. | 4 The sinner provoked the Lord; according to the abundance of his anger he won’t seek after him; God is not before him. |
5 His ways are always grievous; your judgments are far above out of his sight; as for all his enemies, he puffs at them.

| 5 At every moment, his ways are being defiled; your judgments are being cancelled from before him; he will gain dominion over all his enemies. | 5 At every moment, his ways are being defiled; your judgments are being cancelled from before him; he will gain dominion over all his enemies. |
6 He has said in his heart, I shall not be moved; for I shall never be in adversity.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud; under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

8 He sits in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places he murder the innocent; his eyes are privately set against the poor.

9 He lies in wait secretly as a lion in his den; he lies in wait to catch the poor; he does catch the poor, when he draws him into his net.

| 9 He lurks in secret like a lion in his den; he lurks to seize the poor, to seize the poor by dragging him away. | 9 He lurks in secret like a lion in his den; he lurks to seize the poor, to seize the poor by dragging him away. |
10 He crouches, and humbles himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

11 He has said in his heart, God has forgotten; he hides his face; he will never see it.
