Chapter 14

NASTextRec
Now accept the one who is weak in faith, but not for the purpose of passing judgment on his opinions. him that is weak in the faith receive you, but not to doubtful disputations.
One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs.
The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who doesn’t eat, and the one who doesn’t eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God has received him.
14:4 σὺ τίς εἶ κρίνων ἀλλότριον οἰκέτην;
4 σὺ τίς εἶ κρίνων ἀλλότριον οἰκέτην;
Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Who are you that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand.
One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.
He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he doesn’t eat, and gives thanks to God. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he does not regard it. he that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.
For not one of us lives for himself, and not one dies for himself; For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself.
for if we live, we live for the Lord, or if we die, we die for the Lord; therefore whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.
For to this end Christ died and lived again, that he might be Lord both of the dead and of the living. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living.
14:10 σὺ δὲ τί κρίνεις τὸν ἀδελφόν σου;
καὶ σὺ τί ἐξουθενεῖς τὸν ἀδελφόν σου;
10 σὺ δὲ τί κρίνεις τὸν ἀδελφόν σου;
καὶ σὺ τί ἐξουθενεῖς τὸν ἀδελφόν σου;
But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God. But why dost you judge your brother? or why dost you set at nought your brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.
For it is written, “As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall give praise to God.” For it is written, As I live, says the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.
So then each one of us will give an account of himself to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this—not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother's way. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to him who thinks anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
For if because of food your brother is hurt, you are no longer walking according to love. Don’t destroy with your food him for whom Christ died. But if your brother be grieved with your meat, now walkest you not charitably. Destroy not him with your meat, for whom Christ died.
Therefore don’t let what is for you a good thing be spoken of as evil; Let not then your good be evil spoken of:
for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
For he who in this way serves Christ is acceptable to God and approved by men. For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
So then we pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Don’t tear down the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are clean, but they are evil for the man who eats and gives offence. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.
It is good not to eat meat or to drink wine, or to do anything by which your brother stumbles. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby your brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
22 σὺ πίστιν ἔχεις;
The faith which you have, have as your own conviction before God. Happy is he who doesn’t condemn himself in what he approves. Hast you faith? have it to yourself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because his eating is not from faith; and whatever is not from faith is sin. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
