Chapter 2

NASTextRec
But as for you, speak the things which are fitting for sound doctrine. But speak you the things which become sound doctrine:
Older men are to be temperate, dignified, sensible, sound in faith, in love, in perseverance. That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behaviour, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonoured. To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Likewise urge the young men to be sensible; Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified, In all things showing yourself a pattern of good works: in doctrine showing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
sound in speech which is beyond reproach, so that the opponent will be put to shame, having nothing bad to say about us. Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
Urge bondslaves to be subject to their own masters in everything, to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
not pilfering, but showing all good faith so that they will adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in every respect. Not purloining, but showing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,
instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Saviour, Christ Jesus, Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
who gave himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good deeds. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you. These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise you.
