1 Now it came to pass, when the wall was built, and I had set up the doors, and the porters and the singers and the Levites were appointed,

וַיְהִ֗י כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר נִבְנְתָה֙ הַחֹומָ֔ה וָאַעֲמִ֖יד הַדְּלָתֹ֑ות וַיִּפָּ֥קְד֛וּ הַשֹּׁועֲרִ֥ים וְהַמְשֹׁרְרִ֖ים וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃

1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ᾠκοδομήθη τὸ τεῖχος, καὶ ἔστησα τὰς θύρας, καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες καὶ οἱ Λευῖται. 1 Καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ᾠκοδομήθη τὸ τεῖχος, καὶ ἔστησα τάς θύρας, καὶ ἐπεσκέπησαν οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ἄδοντες καὶ οἱ Λευῖται.

2 καὶ ἐνετειλάμην τῷ Ἁνανιὰ ἀδελφῷ μου καὶ τῷ Ἁνανιὰ ἄρχοντι τῆς βιρὰ ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ, ὅτι αὐτὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ ἀληθὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν θεὸν παρὰ πολλούς, 2 καὶ ἐνετειλάμην τῷ Ἀνανίᾳ ἀδελφῷ μου καὶ τῷ Ἀνανίᾳ ἄρχοντι τῆς βιρὰ ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ, ὅτι αὐτὸς ὡς ἀνὴρ ἀληθὴς καὶ φοβούμενος τὸν Θεὸν παρὰ πολλούς,

3 And I said unto them, Don’t let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot; and while they stand by, let them shut the doors, and bar them: and appoint watches of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, everyone in his watch, and everyone to be over against his house.

לָהֶ֗ם לֹ֣א יִפָּֽתְח֞וּ שַׁעֲרֵ֤י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ עַד־חֹ֣ם הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁ וְעַ֨ד הֵ֥ם עֹמְדִ֛ים יָגִ֥יפוּ הַדְּלָתֹ֖ות וֶאֱחֹ֑זוּ וְהַעֲמֵ֗יד מִשְׁמְרֹות֙ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם אִ֚ישׁ בְּמִשְׁמָרֹ֔ו וְאִ֖ישׁ נֶ֥גֶד בֵּיתֹֽו׃

3 And I said to them, “The gates of Hierousalēm won’t be opened until the same time as the sun; and while they are still keeping alert, let the doors be shut, and barred. 4 Now the city was large and great: but the people were few in it, and the houses were not built.

וְהָעִ֞יר רַחֲבַ֤ת יָדַ֙יִם֙ וּגְדֹולָ֔ה וְהָעָ֥ם מְעַ֖ט בְּתֹוכָ֑הּ וְאֵ֥ין בָּתִּ֖ים בְּנוּיִֽם׃

5 And my God put into my heart to gather together the nobles, and the rulers, and the people, that they might be reckoned by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of them who came up at the first, and found written in it,

וַיִּתֵּ֤ן אֱלֹהַי֙ אֶל־לִבִּ֔י וָאֶקְבְּצָ֞ה אֶת־הַחֹרִ֧ים וְאֶת־הַסְּגָנִ֛ים וְאֶת־הָעָ֖ם לְהִתְיַחֵ֑שׂ וָֽאֶמְצָ֗א סֵ֤פֶר הַיַּ֙חַשׂ֙ הָעֹולִ֣ים בָּרִאשֹׁונָ֔ה וָאֶמְצָ֖א כָּת֥וּב בֹּֽו׃

5 καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ θεὸς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ συνῆξα τοὺς ἐντίμους καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνοδίας· καὶ εὗρον βιβλίον τῆς συνοδίας, οἳ ἀνέβησαν ἐν πρώτοις, καὶ εὗρον γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῷ 5 καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ Θεὸς εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου καὶ συνῆξα τοὺς ἐντίμους καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας καὶ τὸν λαὸν εἰς συνοδίας· καὶ εὗρον βιβλίον τῆς συνοδίας, οἳ ἀνέβησαν ἐν πρώτοις, καὶ εὗρον γεγραμμένον ἐν αὐτῷ.

6 καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῆς χώρας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς ἀποικίας, ἧς ἀπῴκισεν Ναβουχοδονόσορ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ εἰς Ἰούδα ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ 6 καὶ οὗτοι υἱοὶ τῆς χώρας οἱ ἀναβάντες ἀπὸ αἰχμαλωσίας τῆς ἀποικίας, ἧς ἀπῴκισε Ναβουχοδονόσορ ὁ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ εἰς Ἰούδα ἀνὴρ εἰς τὴν πόλιν αὐτοῦ

73 καὶ ἐκάθισαν οἱ ἱερεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται καὶ οἱ πυλωροὶ καὶ οἱ ᾄδοντες καὶ οἱ ἀπὸ τοῦ λαοῦ καὶ οἱ Ναθινὶμ καὶ πᾶς Ἰσραὴλ ἐν πόλεσιν αὐτῶν.
