1 And it came to pass in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that this word came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
וַֽיְהִי֙ בַּשָּׁנָ֣ה הָרְבִיעִ֔ת לִיהֹויָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֖הוּ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֑ה הָיָ֞ה הַדָּבָ֤ר הַזֶּה֙ אֶֽל־יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ מֵאֵ֥ת יְהוָ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃

2 Take you a roll of a book, and write in it all the words that I have spoken unto you against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke unto you, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.
קַח־לְךָ֮ מְגִלַּת־סֵפֶר֒ וְכָתַבְתָּ֣ אֵלֶ֗יהָ אֵ֣ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֞ים אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֧רְתִּי אֵלֶ֛יךָ עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֥ל וְעַל־יְהוּדָ֖ה וְעַל־כָּל־הַגֹּויִ֑ם מִיֹּ֞ום דִּבַּ֤רְתִּי אֵלֶ֙יךָ֙ מִימֵ֣י יֹאשִׁיָּ֔הוּ וְעַ֖ד הַיֹּ֥ום הַזֶּֽה׃
| 2 λαβὲ σεαυτῷ χαρτίον βιβλίου καὶ γράψον ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἐχρημάτισα πρὸς σὲ ἐπὶ Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ ἐπὶ Ἰούδαν καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἀφ’ ἧς ἡμέρας λαλήσαντός μου πρός σε, ἀφ’ ἡμερῶν Ἰωσία βασιλέως Ἰούδα καὶ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης· | 2 λάβε σεαυτῷ χαρτίον βιβλίου καὶ γράψον ἐπ’ αὐτοῦ πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἐλάλησα πρὸς σὲ ἐπὶ Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ ἐπὶ Ἰούδα καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, ἀφ’ ἧς ἡμέρας λαλήσαντός μου πρὸς σέ, ἀφ’ ἡμερῶν Ἰωσία βασιλέως Ἰούδα καὶ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης· |

3 It may be that the house of Judah will hear all the evil which I purpose to do unto them; that they may return every man from his evil way; that I may forgive their iniquity and their sin.
אוּלַ֤י יִשְׁמְעוּ֙ בֵּ֣ית יְהוּדָ֔ה אֵ֚ת כָּל־הָ֣רָעָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֛ר אָנֹכִ֥י חֹשֵׁ֖ב לַעֲשֹׂ֣ות לָהֶ֑ם לְמַ֣עַן יָשׁ֗וּבוּ אִ֚ישׁ מִדַּרְכֹּ֣ו הָרָעָ֔ה וְסָלַחְתִּ֥י לַעֲוֹנָ֖ם וּלְחַטָּאתָֽם׃

4 Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah: and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the LORD, which he had spoken unto him, upon a roll of a book.
וַיִּקְרָ֣א יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ אֶת־בָּר֖וּךְ בֶּן־נֵֽרִיָּ֑ה וַיִּכְתֹּ֨ב בָּר֜וּךְ מִפִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֗הוּ אֵ֣ת כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֧י יְהוָ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר אֵלָ֖יו עַל־מְגִלַּת־סֵֽפֶר׃

5 And Jeremiah commanded Baruch, saying, I am shut up; I cannot go into the house of the LORD:
וַיְצַוֶּ֣ה יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ אֶת־בָּר֖וּךְ לֵאמֹ֑ר אֲנִ֣י עָצ֔וּר לֹ֣א אוּכַ֔ל לָבֹ֖וא בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃

6 Therefore go you, and read in the roll, which you have written from my mouth, the words of the LORD in the ears of the people in the LORD’s house upon the fasting day: and also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah that come out of their cities.
וּבָאתָ֣ אַתָּ֡ה וְקָרָ֣אתָ בַמְּגִלָּ֣ה אֲשֶׁר־כָּתַֽבְתָּ־מִפִּי֩ אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֨י יְהוָ֜ה בְּאָזְנֵ֥י הָעָ֛ם בֵּ֥ית יְהוָ֖ה בְּיֹ֣ום צֹ֑ום וְגַ֨ם בְּאָזְנֵ֧י כָל־יְהוּדָ֛ה הַבָּאִ֥ים מֵעָרֵיהֶ֖ם תִּקְרָאֵֽם׃
| 6 καὶ ἀναγνώσῃ ἐν τῷ χαρτίῳ τούτῳ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ νηστείας, καὶ ἐν ὠσὶ παντὸς Ἰούδα τῶν ἐρχομένων ἐκ πόλεως αὐτῶν ἀναγνώσῃ αὐτοῖς· | 6 καὶ ἀναγνώσῃ ἐν τῷ χαρτίῳ τούτῳ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ ἐν οἴκῳ Κυρίου ἐν ἡμέρᾳ νηστείας, καὶ ἐν ὠσὶ παντὸς Ἰούδα τῶν ἐρχομένων ἐκ πόλεων αὐτῶν ἀναγνώσῃ αὐτοῖς· |

7 It may be they will present their supplication before the LORD, and will return everyone from his evil way: for great is the anger and the fury that the LORD has pronounced against this people.
אוּלַ֞י תִּפֹּ֤ל תְּחִנָּתָם֙ לִפְנֵ֣י יְהוָ֔ה וְיָשֻׁ֕בוּ אִ֖ישׁ מִדַּרְכֹּ֣ו הָרָעָ֑ה כִּֽי־גָדֹ֤ול הָאַף֙ וְהַ֣חֵמָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבֶּ֥ר יְהוָ֖ה אֶל־הָעָ֥ם הַזֶּֽה׃
| 7 ἴσως πεσεῖται ἔλεος αὐτῶν κατὰ πρόσωπον κυρίου, καὶ ἀποστρέψουσιν ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτῶν τῆς πονηρᾶς, ὅτι μέγας ὁ θυμὸς καὶ ἡ ὀργὴ κυρίου, ἣν ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον. | 7 ἴσως πεσεῖται ἔλεος αὐτῶν κατὰ πρόσωπον Κυρίου, καὶ ἀποστρέψουσιν ἐκ τῆς ὁδοῦ αὐτῶν τῆς πονηρᾶς, ὅτι μέγας ὁ θυμὸς καὶ ἡ ὀργὴ Κυρίου, ἣν ἐλάλησεν ἐπὶ τὸν λαὸν τοῦτον. |

8 And Baruch the son of Neriah did according to all that Jeremiah the prophet commanded him, reading in the book the words of the LORD in the LORD’s house.
וַיַּ֗עַשׂ בָּרוּךְ֙ בֶּן־נֵ֣רִיָּ֔ה כְּכֹ֥ל אֲשֶׁר־צִוָּ֖הוּ יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֑יא לִקְרֹ֥א בַסֵּ֛פֶר דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה בֵּ֥ית יְהֹוָֽה׃
| 8 καὶ ἐποίησεν Βαροὺχ κατὰ πάντα, ἃ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ Ἱερεμίας τοῦ ἀναγνῶναι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ λόγους κυρίου ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου. | 8 καὶ ἐποίησε Βαροὺχ κατὰ πάντας, ἃ ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ Ἱερεμίας, τοῦ ἀναγνῶναι ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τοὺς λόγους Κυρίου ἐν οἴκῳ Κυρίου. |

9 And it came to pass in the fifth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, in the ninth month, that they proclaimed a fast before the LORD to all the people in Jerusalem, and to all the people that came from the cities of Judah unto Jerusalem.
וַיְהִ֣י בַשָּׁנָ֣ה הַ֠חֲמִשִׁית לִיהֹויָקִ֨ים בֶּן־יֹאשִׁיָּ֤הוּ מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֙ בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁעִ֔י קָרְא֨וּ צֹ֜ום לִפְנֵ֧י יְהוָ֛ה כָּל־הָעָ֖ם בִּירֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם וְכָל־הָעָ֗ם הַבָּאִ֛ים מֵעָרֵ֥י יְהוּדָ֖ה בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃
| 9 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ ὀγδόῳ βασιλεῖ Ἰωακὶμ τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ἐνάτῳ ἐξεκκλησίασαν νηστείαν κατὰ πρόσωπον κυρίου πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ οἶκος Ἰούδα. | 9 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ ὀγδόῳ τῷ βασιλεῖ Ἰωακεὶμ ἐν τῷ μηνὶ τῷ ἐνάτῳ, ἐξεκκλησίασαν νηστείαν κατὰ πρόσωπον Κυρίου πᾶς ὁ λαὸς ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ οἶκος Ἰούδα. |

10 Then read Baruch in the book the words of Jeremiah in the house of the LORD, in the chamber of Gemariah the son of Shaphan the scribe, in the higher court, at the entry of the new gate of the LORD’s house, in the ears of all the people.
וַיִּקְרָ֨א בָר֥וּךְ בַּסֵּ֛פֶר אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י יִרְמְיָ֖הוּ בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה בְּלִשְׁכַּ֡ת גְּמַרְיָהוּ֩ בֶן־שָׁפָ֨ן הַסֹּפֵ֜ר בֶּחָצֵ֣ר הָעֶלְיֹ֗ון פֶּ֣תַח שַׁ֤עַר בֵּית־יְהוָה֙ הֶֽחָדָ֔שׁ בְּאָזְנֵ֖י כָּל־הָעָֽם׃
| 10 καὶ ἀνεγίνωσκε Βαροὺχ ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τοὺς λόγους Ἱερεμίου ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου ἐν οἴκῳ Γαμαρίου υἱοῦ Σαφὰν τοῦ γραμματέως ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῇ ἐπάνω ἐν προθύροις πύλης τοῦ οἴκου κυρίου τῆς καινῆς ἐν ὠσὶ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ. | 10 καὶ ἀνεγίνωσκε Βαροὺχ ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τοὺς λόγους Ἱερεμίου ἐν οἴκῳ Κυρίου, ἐν οἴκῳ Γαμαρίου, υἱοῦ Σαφὰν τοῦ γραμματέως, ἐν τῇ αὐλῇ τῇ ἐπάνω ἐν προθύροις πύλης τοῦ οἴκου Κυρίου τῆς καινῆς καὶ ἐν ὠσὶ παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ. |

11 When Michaiah the son of Gemariah, the son of Shaphan, had heard out of the book all the words of the LORD,
וַ֠יִּשְׁמַ֗ע מִכָ֨יְהוּ בֶן־גְּמַרְיָ֧הוּ בֶן־שָׁפָ֛ן אֶת־כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֥י יְהוָ֖ה מֵעַ֥ל הַסֵּֽפֶר׃
| 11 καὶ ἤκουσεν Μιχαιὰς υἱὸς Γαμαρίου υἱοῦ Σαφὰν ἅπαντας τοὺς λόγους κυρίου ἐκ τοῦ βιβλίου· | 11 καὶ ἤκουσε Μιχαίας υἱὸς Γαμαρίου υἱοῦ Σαφὰν ἅπαντας τοὺς λόγους Κυρίου ἐκ τοῦ βιβλίου· |

12 Then he went down into the king’s house, into the scribe’s chamber: and, lo, all the princes sat there, even Elishama the scribe, and Delaiah the son of Shemaiah, and Elnathan the son of Achbor, and Gemariah the son of Shaphan, and Zedekiah the son of Hananiah, and all the princes.
וַיֵּ֤רֶד בֵּית־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ עַל־לִשְׁכַּ֣ת הַסֹּפֵ֔ר וְהִ֨נֵּה־שָׁ֔ם כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֖ים יֹֽושְׁבִ֑ים אֱלִישָׁמָ֣ע הַסֹּפֵ֡ר וּדְלָיָ֣הוּ בֶן־שְׁ֠מַעְיָהוּ וְאֶלְנָתָ֨ן בֶּן־עַכְבֹּ֜ור וּגְמַרְיָ֧הוּ בֶן־שָׁפָ֛ן וְצִדְקִיָּ֥הוּ בֶן־חֲנַנְיָ֖הוּ וְכָל־הַשָּׂרִֽים׃
| 12 καὶ κατέβη εἰς οἶκον τοῦ βασιλέως εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ γραμματέως, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες ἐκάθηντο, Ἐλισαμὰ ὁ γραμματεὺς καὶ Δαλαίας υἱὸς Σελεμίου καὶ Ἐλναθὰν υἱὸς Ἀκχοβὼρ καὶ Γαμαρίας υἱὸς Σαφὰν καὶ Σεδεκίας υἱὸς Ἀνανίου καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες, | 12 καὶ κατέβη εἰς οἰκίαν τοῦ βασιλέως, εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ γραμματέως, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκεῖ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες ἐκάθηντο, Ἐλισαμὰ ὁ γραμματεὺς καὶ Δαλαίας υἱὸς Σελεμίου καὶ Ἐλνάθαν υἱὸς Ἀκχοβὼρ καὶ Γαμαρίας υἱὸς Σαφὰν καὶ Σεδεκίας υἱὸς Ἀνανίου καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες, |

13 Then Michaiah declared unto them all the words that he had heard, when Baruch read the book in the ears of the people.
וַיַּגֵּ֤ד לָהֶם֙ מִכָ֔יְהוּ אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁמֵ֑עַ בִּקְרֹ֥א בָר֛וּךְ בַּסֵּ֖פֶר בְּאָזְנֵ֥י הָעָֽם׃
| 13 καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς Μιχαιὰς πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἤκουσεν ἀναγινώσκοντος τοῦ Βαροὺχ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ. | 13 καὶ ἀνήγγειλεν αὐτοῖς Μιχαίας πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἤκουσεν ἀναγινώσκοντος Βαροὺχ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ. |

14 Therefore all the princes sent Jehudi the son of Nethaniah, the son of Shelemiah, the son of Cushi, unto Baruch, saying, Take in your hand the roll in which you have read in the ears of the people, and come. So Baruch the son of Neriah took the roll in his hand, and came unto them.
וַיִּשְׁלְח֨וּ כָל־הַשָּׂרִ֜ים אֶל־בָּר֗וּךְ אֶת־יְהוּדִ֡י בֶּן־נְ֠תַנְיָהוּ בֶּן־שֶׁלֶמְיָ֣הוּ בֶן־כּוּשִׁי֮ לֵאמֹר֒ הַמְּגִלָּ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר קָרָ֤אתָ בָּהּ֙ בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הָעָ֔ם קָחֶ֥נָּה בְיָדְךָ֖ וָלֵ֑ךְ וַ֠יִּקַּח בָּר֨וּךְ בֶּן־נֵרִיָּ֤הוּ אֶת־הַמְּגִלָּה֙ בְּיָדֹ֔ו וַיָּבֹ֖א אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

וַיֹּאמְר֤וּ הַשָּׂרִים֙ אֶל־בָּר֔וּךְ לֵ֥ךְ הִסָּתֵ֖ר אַתָּ֣ה וְיִרְמְיָ֑הוּ וְאִ֥ישׁ אַל־יֵדַ֖ע אֵיפֹ֥ה אַתֶּֽם׃

וַיָּבֹ֤אוּ אֶל־הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ חָצֵ֔רָה וְאֶת־הַמְּגִלָּ֣ה הִפְקִ֔דוּ בְּלִשְׁכַּ֖ת אֱלִישָׁמָ֣ע הַסֹּפֵ֑ר וַיַּגִּ֙ידוּ֙ בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֵ֖ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִֽים׃

וַיִּשְׁלַ֨ח הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ אֶת־יְהוּדִ֗י לָקַ֙חַת֙ אֶת־הַמְּגִלָּ֔ה וַיִּ֨קָּחֶ֔הָ מִלִּשְׁכַּ֖ת אֱלִישָׁמָ֣ע הַסֹּפֵ֑ר וַיִּקְרָאֶ֤הָ יְהוּדִי֙ בְּאָזְנֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וּבְאָזְנֵי֙ כָּל־הַשָּׂרִ֔ים הָעֹמְדִ֖ים מֵעַ֥ל הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

וְהַמֶּ֗לֶךְ יֹושֵׁב֙ בֵּ֣ית הַחֹ֔רֶף בַּחֹ֖דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁיעִ֑י וְאֶת־הָאָ֖ח לְפָנָ֥יו מְבֹעָֽרֶת׃

24 Yet they were not afraid, nor rent their garments, neither the king, nor any of his servants that heard all these words.
וְלֹ֣א פָחֲד֔וּ וְלֹ֥א קָרְע֖וּ אֶת־בִּגְדֵיהֶ֑ם הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ וְכָל־עֲבָדָ֔יו הַשֹּׁ֣מְעִ֔ים אֵ֥ת כָּל־הַדְּבָרִ֖ים הָאֵֽלֶּה׃

25 Nevertheless Elnathan and Delaiah and Gemariah had made intercession to the king that he would not burn the roll: but he would not hear them.
וְגַם֩ אֶלְנָתָ֨ן וּדְלָיָ֤הוּ וּגְמַרְיָ֙הוּ֙ הִפְגִּ֣עוּ בַמֶּ֔לֶךְ לְבִלְתִּ֥י שְׂרֹ֖ף אֶת־הַמְּגִלָּ֑ה וְלֹ֥א שָׁמַ֖ע אֲלֵיהֶֽם׃

וַיְצַוֶּ֣ה הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ אֶת־יְרַחְמְאֵ֨ל בֶּן־הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ וְאֶת־שְׂרָיָ֣הוּ בֶן־עַזְרִיאֵ֗ל וְאֶת־שֶֽׁלֶמְיָ֙הוּ֙ בֶּֽן־עַבְדְּאֵ֔ל לָקַ֙חַת֙ אֶת־בָּר֣וּךְ הַסֹּפֵ֔ר וְאֵ֖ת יִרְמְיָ֣הוּ הַנָּבִ֑יא וַיַּסְתִּרֵ֖ם יְהוָֽה׃

| 27 καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ἱερεμίαν μετὰ τὸ κατακαῦσαι τὸν βασιλέα τὸ χαρτίον, πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἔγραψεν Βαροὺχ ἀπὸ στόματος Ἱερεμίου, λέγων | 27 Καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρὸς Ἱερεμίαν μετὰ τὸ κατακαῦσαι τὸν βασιλέα τὸ χαρτίον, πάντας τοὺς λόγους, οὓς ἔγραψε Βαροὺχ ἀπὸ στόματος Ἱερεμίου λέγων· |

וְעַל־יְהֹויָקִ֤ים מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָה֙ תֹּאמַ֔ר כֹּ֖ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֑ה אַ֠תָּה שָׂרַ֜פְתָּ אֶת־הַמְּגִלָּ֤ה הַזֹּאת֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר מַדּוּעַ֩ כָּתַ֨בְתָּ עָלֶ֜יהָ לֵאמֹ֗ר בֹּֽא־יָבֹ֤וא מֶֽלֶךְ־בָּבֶל֙ וְהִשְׁחִית֙ אֶת־הָאָ֣רֶץ הַזֹּ֔את וְהִשְׁבִּ֥ית מִמֶּ֖נָּה אָדָ֥ם וּבְהֵמָֽה׃
| 29 καὶ ἐρεῖς οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος σὺ κατέκαυσας τὸ χαρτίον τοῦτο λέγων διὰ τί ἔγραψας ἐπ’ αὐτῷ λέγων εἰσπορευόμενος εἰσπορεύσεται ὁ βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσει τὴν γῆν ταύτην, καὶ ἐκλείψει ἀπ’ αὐτῆς ἄνθρωπος καὶ κτήνη; | 29 καὶ ἐρεῖς· οὕτως εἶπε Κύριος· σὺ κατέκαυσας τὸ χαρτίον τοῦτο λέγων· διατί ἔγραψας ἐπ’ αὐτῷ λέγων· εἰσπορευόμενος εἰσπορεύσεται βασιλεὺς Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἐξολοθρεύσει τὴν γῆν ταύτην, καὶ ἐκλείψει ἐπ’ αὐτῆς ἄνθρωπος καὶ κτήνη; |

30 Therefore thus says the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

31 And I will punish him and his seed and his servants for their iniquity; and I will bring upon them, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and upon the men of Judah, all the evil that I have pronounced against them; but they didn’t listen.
וּפָקַדְתִּ֨י עָלָ֧יו וְעַל־זַרְעֹ֛ו וְעַל־עֲבָדָ֖יו אֶת־עֲוֹנָ֑ם וְהֵבֵאתִ֣י עֲ֠לֵיהֶם וְעַל־יֹשְׁבֵ֨י יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם וְאֶל־אִ֣ישׁ יְהוּדָ֗ה אֵ֧ת כָּל־הָרָעָ֛ה אֲשֶׁר־דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי אֲלֵיהֶ֖ם וְלֹ֥א שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃

32 Then took Jeremiah another roll, and gave it to Baruch the scribe, the son of Neriah; who wrote in it from the mouth of Jeremiah all the words of the book which Jehoiakim king of Judah had burned in the fire: and there were added besides unto them many like words.
וְיִרְמְיָ֜הוּ לָקַ֣ח ׀ מְגִלָּ֣ה אַחֶ֗רֶת וַֽיִּתְּנָהּ֮ אֶל־בָּר֣וּךְ בֶּן־נֵרִיָּהוּ֮ הַסֹּפֵר֒ וַיִּכְתֹּ֤ב עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ מִפִּ֣י יִרְמְיָ֔הוּ אֵ֚ת כָּל־דִּבְרֵ֣י הַסֵּ֔פֶר אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׂרַ֛ף יְהֹויָקִ֥ים מֶֽלֶךְ־יְהוּדָ֖ה בָּאֵ֑שׁ וְעֹ֨וד נֹוסַ֧ף עֲלֵיהֶ֛ם דְּבָרִ֥ים רַבִּ֖ים כָּהֵֽמָּה׃
