14:1 Μὴ ταρασσέσθω ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία·

14:2 ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου μοναὶ πολλαί εἰσιν·
εἰ δὲ μὴ, εἶπον ἄν ὑμῖν ὅτι πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον ὑμῖν; 		2 ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ τοῦ πατρός μου μοναὶ πολλαί εἰσιν·
εἰ δὲ μὴ, εἶπον ἄν ὑμῖν·
πορεύομαι ἑτοιμάσαι τόπον ὑμῖν.
In my Father's house are many residences; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. In my Father's house are many residences; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
14:3 καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶ καὶ ἑτοιμάσω τόπον ὑμῖν, πάλιν ἔρχομαι καὶ παραλήμψομαι ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν, ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγὼ καὶ ὑμεῖς ἦτε. 3 καὶ ἐὰν πορευθῶ καὶ ἑτοιμάσω ὑμῖν τόπον, πάλιν ἔρχομαι καὶ παραλήψομαι ὑμᾶς πρὸς ἐμαυτόν·
ἵνα ὅπου εἰμὶ ἐγώ, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἦτε.
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
14:4 καὶ ὅπου [ἐγὼ] ὑπάγω οἴδατε τὴν ὁδόν. 4 καὶ ὅπου ἐγὼ ὑπάγω οἴδατε, καὶ τὴν ὁδὸν οἴδατε.
And you know the way where I am going.” And you know the way where I am going.”
14:5 Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς, κύριε, οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις·
πῶς δυνάμεθα τὴν ὁδὸν εἰδέναι; 		5 Λέγει αὐτῷ Θωμᾶς, κύριε, οὐκ οἴδαμεν ποῦ ὑπάγεις·

Thōmas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, how are we able to know the way?” Thōmas said to him, “Lord, we don’t know where you are going, and how are we able to know the way?”
14:6 λέγει αὐτῷ [ὁ] Ἰησοῦς, ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ὁδὸς καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ ἡ ζωή·
οὐδεὶς ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸν πατέρα εἰ μὴ δι᾿ ἐμοῦ. 		6 λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ὁδὸς καὶ ἡ ἀλήθεια καὶ ἡ ζωή·
οὐδεὶς ἔρχεται πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, εἰ μὴ δι᾿ ἐμοῦ.

14:7 εἰ ἐγνώκειτέ με, καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου γνώσεσθε, καὶ ἀπ᾿ ἄρτι γινώσκετε αὐτὸν καὶ ἑωράκατε αὐτόν. 7 εἰ ἐγνώκειτέ με, καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου ἐγνώκειτε ἄν·
καὶ ἀπ᾿ ἄρτι γινώσκετε αὐτόν, καὶ ἑωράκατε αὐτόν.
If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; from now on you know him, and have seen him.” If you had known me, you would have known my Father also; from now on you know him, and have seen him.”
14:8 λέγει αὐτῷ Φίλιππος, κύριε, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα, καὶ ἀρκεῖ ἡμῖν. 8 λέγει αὐτῷ Φίλιππος, κύριε, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα, καὶ ἀρκεῖ ἡμῖν.

14:9 λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, τοσούτῳ χρόνῳ μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰμι καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωκάς με, Φίλιππε;
ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμὲ ἑώρακεν τὸν πατέρα·
πῶς σὺ λέγεις, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα; 		9 λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς, τοσοῦτον χρόνον μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰμι, καὶ οὐκ ἔγνωκάς με, Φίλιππε;
ὁ ἑωρακὼς ἐμέ, ἑώρακε τὸν πατέρα·
καὶ πῶς σὺ λέγεις, δεῖξον ἡμῖν τὸν πατέρα;
Jesus said to him, “Have I been a long time with you, and yet you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how do you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Jesus said to him, “Have I been a long time with you, and yet you have not known me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
14:10 οὐ πιστεύεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστιν;
τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐγὼ λέγω ὑμῖν ἀπ᾿ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐ λαλῶ, ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοὶ μένων ποιεῖ τὰ ἔργα αὐτοῦ. 		10 οὐ πιστεύεις ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί ἐστι;
τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐγὼ λαλῶ ὑμῖν, ἀπ᾿ ἐμαυτοῦ οὐ λαλῶ·
ὁ δὲ πατὴρ ὁ ἐν ἐμοὶ μένων, αὐτὸς ποιεῖ τὰ ἔργα.
Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I don’t speak on myself, but the Father remaining in me does his works. Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I don’t speak on myself, but the Father remaining in me does his works.
14:11 πιστεύετέ μοι ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρὶ καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί·
εἰ δὲ μή, διὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτὰ πιστεύετε. 		11 πιστεύετέ μοι ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν ἐμοί·
εἰ δὲ μή, διὰ τὰ ἔργα αὐτὰ πιστεύετέ μοι.
Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.
14:12 ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμὲ τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ κἀκεῖνος ποιήσει καὶ μείζονα τούτων ποιήσει, ὅτι ἐγὼ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα πορεύομαι· 12 ἀμὴν ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὁ πιστεύων εἰς ἐμέ, τὰ ἔργα ἃ ἐγὼ ποιῶ, κἀκεῖνος ποιήσει, καὶ μείζονα τούτων ποιήσει·
ὅτι ἐγὼ πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου πορεύομαι.
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father. Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to my Father.
14:13 καὶ ὃ τι ἄν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου τοῦτο ποιήσω, ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ υἱῷ· 13 καὶ ὃ τι ἄν αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, τοῦτο ποιήσω·
ἵνα δοξασθῇ ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ υἱῷ.
Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. Whatever you ask in my name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14:14 ἐάν τι αἰτήσητέ με ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐγὼ ποιήσω. 14 ἐάν τι αἰτήσητε ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, ἐγὼ ποιήσω.
If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
14:15 Ἐὰν ἀγαπᾶτέ με, τὰς ἐντολὰς τὰς ἐμὰς τηρήσετε· 15 Ἐὰν ἀγαπᾶτέ με, τὰς ἐντολὰς τὰς ἐμὰς τηρήσατε.
If you love me, you will keep my commandments. If you love me, you will keep my commandments.
14:16 κἀγὼ ἐρωτήσω τὸν πατέρα καὶ ἄλλον παράκλητον δώσει ὑμῖν, ἵνα μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα ᾖ, 16 καὶ ἐγὼ ἐρωτήσω τὸν πατέρα, καὶ ἄλλον παράκλητον δώσει ὑμῖν, ἵνα μένῃ μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα,
I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, that he may be with you forever; I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, that he may be with you forever;
14:17 τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας, ὃ ὁ κόσμος οὐ δύναται λαβεῖν, ὅτι οὐ θεωρεῖ αὐτὸ οὐδὲ γινώσκει·
ὑμεῖς γινώσκετε αὐτό, ὅτι παρ᾿ ὑμῖν μένει καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσται. 		17 τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας, ὃ ὁ κόσμος οὐ δύναται λαβεῖν, ὅτι οὐ θεωρεῖ αὐτό, οὐδὲ γινώσκει·
ὑμεῖς δὲ γινώσκετε αὐτό, ὅτι παρ᾿ ὑμῖν μένει, καὶ ἐν ὑμῖν ἔσται.

14:18 οὐκ ἀφήσω ὑμᾶς ὀρφανούς, ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς. 18 οὐκ ἀφήσω ὑμᾶς ὀρφανούς·

I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
14:19 ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ὁ κόσμος με οὐκέτι θεωρεῖ, ὑμεῖς δὲ θεωρεῖτέ με, ὅτι ἐγὼ ζῶ καὶ ὑμεῖς ζήσετε. 19 ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ὁ κόσμος με οὐκ ἔτι θεωρεῖ, ὑμεῖς δὲ θεωρεῖτέ με·
ὅτι ἐγὼ ζῶ, καὶ ὑμεῖς ζήσεσθε.
After a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also. After a little while the world will no longer see me, but you will see me; because I live, you will live also.
14:20 ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ γνώσεσθε ὑμεῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί μου καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν. 20 ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ γνώσεσθε ὑμεῖς ὅτι ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ πατρί μου, καὶ ὑμεῖς ἐν ἐμοί, κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν·
In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.
14:21 ὁ ἔχων τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τηρῶν αὐτὰς ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ὁ ἀγαπῶν με·
ὁ δὲ ἀγαπῶν με ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου, κἀγὼ ἀγαπήσω αὐτὸν καὶ ἐμφανίσω αὐτῷ ἐμαυτόν. 		21 ὁ ἔχων τὰς ἐντολάς μου καὶ τηρῶν αὐτάς, ἐκεῖνός ἐστιν ὁ ἀγαπῶν με·
ὁ δὲ ἀγαπῶν με, ἀγαπηθήσεται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου·
καὶ ἐγὼ ἀγαπήσω αὐτόν, καὶ ἐμφανίσω αὐτῷ ἐμαυτόν.
He who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.” He who has my commandments and keeps them is the one who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal myself to him.”
14:22 Λέγει αὐτῷ Ἰούδας, οὐχ ὁ Ἰσκαριώτης, κύριε, [καὶ] τί γέγονεν ὅτι ἡμῖν μέλλεις ἐμφανίζειν σεαυτὸν καὶ οὐχὶ τῷ κόσμῳ; 22 Λέγει αὐτῷ Ἰούδας, οὐχ ὁ Ἰσκαριώτης, κύριε, τί γέγονεν ὅτι ἡμῖν μέλλεις ἐμφανίζειν σεαυτόν, καὶ οὐχὶ τῷ κόσμῳ;
Judas (not Iskariōt) said to him, “Lord, what then has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?” Judas (not Iskariōt) said to him, “Lord, what then has happened that you are going to reveal yourself to us and not to the world?”
14:23 ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσει, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσει αὐτὸν καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθα καὶ μονὴν παρ᾿ αὐτῷ ποιησόμεθα. 23 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, ἐάν τις ἀγαπᾷ με, τὸν λόγον μου τηρήσει, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀγαπήσει αὐτόν, καὶ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐλευσόμεθα, καὶ μονὴν παρ᾿ αὐτῷ ποιήσομεν.
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep my word; and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make our residence with him. 14:24 ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν με τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ·
καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸς ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός. 		24 ὁ μὴ ἀγαπῶν με, τοὺς λόγους μου οὐ τηρεῖ·
καὶ ὁ λόγος ὃν ἀκούετε, οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμός, ἀλλὰ τοῦ πέμψαντός με πατρός.
He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me. He who doesn’t love me doesn’t keep my words; and the word which you hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
14:25 Ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν παρ᾿ ὑμῖν μένων· 25 Ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν παρ᾿ ὑμῖν μένων·
“These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you. “These things I have spoken to you while remaining with you.
14:26 ὁ δὲ παράκλητος τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, ὃ πέμψει ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐκεῖνος ὑμᾶς διδάξει πάντα καὶ ὑπομνήσει ὑμᾶς πάντα ἃ εἶπον ὑμῖν [ἐγώ]. 26 ὁ δὲ παράκλητος, τὸ πνεῦμα τὸ ἅγιον, ὃ πέμψει ὁ πατὴρ ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου, ἐκεῖνος ὑμᾶς διδάξει πάντα, καὶ ὑπομνήσει ὑμᾶς πάντα ἃ εἶπον ὑμῖν.

14:27 εἰρήνην ἀφίημι ὑμῖν, εἰρήνην τὴν ἐμὴν δίδωμι ὑμῖν·

μὴ ταρασσέσθω ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία μηδὲ δειλιάτω. 		27 εἰρήνην ἀφίημι ὑμῖν, εἰρήνην τὴν ἐμὴν δίδωμι ὑμῖν·
οὐ καθὼς ὁ κόσμος δίδωσιν, ἐγὼ δίδωμι ὑμῖν·
μὴ ταρασσέσθω ὑμῶν ἡ καρδία, μηδὲ δειλιάτω.

14:28 ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπον ὑμῖν, ὑπάγω καὶ ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
εἰ ἠγαπᾶτέ με ἐχάρητε ἄν ὅτι πορεύομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα, ὅτι ὁ πατὴρ μείζων μού ἐστιν. 		28 ἠκούσατε ὅτι ἐγὼ εἶπον ὑμῖν, ὑπάγω καὶ ἔρχομαι πρὸς ὑμᾶς.
εἰ ἠγαπᾶτέ με, ἐχάρητε ἄν ὅτι εἶπον, πορεύομαι πρὸς τὸν πατέρα·
ὅτι ὁ πατήρ μου μείζων μου ἐστί.
You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, because the Father is greater than I. You heard that I said to you, ‘I go away, and I will come to you.’ If you loved me, you would have rejoiced because I go to the Father, because the Father is greater than I.
14:29 καὶ νῦν εἴρηκα ὑμῖν πρὶν γενέσθαι, ἵνα ὅταν γένηται πιστεύσητε. 29 καὶ νῦν εἴρηκα ὑμῖν πρὶν γενέσθαι·
ἵνα ὅταν γένηται, πιστεύσητε.
Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe. Now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, you may believe.
14:30 οὐκέτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν, ἔρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου ἄρχων·
καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔχει οὐδέν, 		30 οὐκ ἔτι πολλὰ λαλήσω μεθ᾿ ὑμῶν·
ἔρχεται γὰρ ὁ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου ἄρχων, καὶ ἐν ἐμοὶ οὐκ ἔχει οὐδέν·
I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in me; I will not speak much more with you, for the ruler of the world is coming, and he has nothing in me;
14:31 ἀλλ᾿ ἵνα γνῷ ὁ κόσμος ὅτι ἀγαπῶ τὸν πατέρα, καὶ καθὼς ἐνετείλατό μοι ὁ πατήρ, οὕτως ποιῶ.
ἐγείρεσθε, ἄγωμεν ἐντεῦθεν. 		31 ἀλλ᾿ ἵνα γνῷ ὁ κόσμος, ὅτι ἀγαπῶ τὸν πατέρα, καὶ καθὼς ἐνετείλατό μοι ὁ πατήρ, οὕτω ποιῶ·
ἐγείρεσθε, ἄγωμεν ἐντεῦθεν.
