NASTextRec
Now after this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them in pairs ahead of him to every city and place where he himself was going to come. After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come.
And he was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.
Go; behold, I send you out as lambs in the midst of wolves. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
Carry no money belt, no bag, no shoes; and greet no one on the way. Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace be to this house.’ And into whatsoever house you enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
If a man of peace is there, your peace will rest on him; but if not, it will return to you. And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
Stay in that house, eating and drinking what they give you; for the labourer is worthy of his wages. Don’t keep moving from house to house. And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
Whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you; And into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
and heal those in it who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’ And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
But whatever city you enter and they don’t receive you, go out into its streets and say, But into whatsoever city you enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say,
‘Even the dust of your city which clings to our feet we wipe off in protest against you; yet be sure of this, that the kingdom of God has come near.’ Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be you sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
I say to you, it will be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city. But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom, than for that city.
“Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bēthsaida! For if the miracles had been performed in Tyre and Sidōn which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes. Woe unto you, Chorazin! woe unto you, Bēthsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidōn, which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.
But it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidōn in the judgment than for you. But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidōn at the judgment, than for you.
10:15 καὶ σύ, Καφαρναούμ, μὴ ἕως οὐρανοῦ ὑψωθήσῃ;
And you, Kapharnaoum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will be brought down to Hades! And you, Kapernaoum, which are exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.
“The one who listens to you listens to me, and the one who rejects you rejects me; and he who rejects me rejects the One who sent me.” He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.
The seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through your name.
And he said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.
Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Nevertheless don’t rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.” Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
At that very time he rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I praise You, Oh Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants. Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank you, Oh Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hid these things from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in your sight.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, and who the Father is except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal him.” All things are delivered to me of my Father: and no man knoweth who the Son is, but the Father; and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son will reveal him.
Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things you see, And he turned him unto his disciples, and said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see:
for I say to you, that many prophets and kings wished to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.” For I tell you, that many prophets and kings have desired to see those things which you see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which you hear, and have not heard them.
10:25 καὶ ἰδοὺ νομικός τις ἀνέστη ἐκπειράζων αὐτὸν λέγων, διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσας ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω; 25 καὶ ἰδού, νομικός τις ἀνέστη, ἐκπειράζων αὐτόν, καὶ λέγων, διδάσκαλε, τί ποιήσας ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;
And a lawyer stood up and put him to the test, saying, “Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?
10:26  δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτόν, ἐν τῷ νόμῳ τί γέγραπται;
πῶς ἀναγινώσκεις;
26  δὲ εἶπε πρὸς αὐτόν, ἐν τῷ νόμῳ τί γέγραπται;
πῶς ἀναγινώσκεις;
And he said to him, “What is written in the Law? How does it read to you?” He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest you?
And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” And he answering said, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbour as yourself.
And he said to him, “You have answered correctly; do this and you will live.” And he said unto him, You have answered right: this do, and you shall live.
10:29  δὲ θέλων δικαιῶσαι ἑαυτὸν εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν, καὶ τίς ἐστίν μου πλησίον; 29  δὲ θέλων δικαιοῦν ἑαυτὸν εἶπε πρὸς τὸν Ἰησοῦν, καὶ τίς ἐστί μου πλησίον;
But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour?
Jesus replied and said, “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead. And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, he felt compassion, But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him,
and came to him and bandaged up his wounds, pouring oil and wine on them; and he put him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn and took care of him. And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
On the next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’ And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever you spendest more, when I come again, I will repay you.
10:36 τίς τούτων τῶν τριῶν πλησίον δοκεῖ σοί γεγονέναι τοῦ ἐμπεσόντος εἰς τοὺς λῃστάς; 36 τίς οὖν τούτων τῶν τριῶν δοκεῖ σοι πλησίον γεγονέναι τοῦ ἐμπεσόντος εἰς τοὺς λῃστάς;
Which of these three do you think proved to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?” Which now of these three, thinkest you, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
And he said, “The one who showed mercy toward him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do the same.” And he said, he that showed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do you likewise.
Now as they were traveling along, he entered a village; and a woman named Martha welcomed him into her home. Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.
She had a sister called Mary, who was seated at the Lord's feet, listening to his word. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπεν, κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἀδελφή μου μόνην με κατέλειπεν διακονεῖν;
ἐπιστᾶσα δὲ εἶπε, κύριε, οὐ μέλει σοι ὅτι ἀδελφή μου μόνην με κατέλιπε διακονεῖν;
But Martha was distracted with all her preparations; and she came up to him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to do all the serving alone? Then tell her to help me.” But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost you not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me.
But the Lord answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and bothered about so many things; And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, you are careful and troubled about many things:
but only one thing is necessary, for Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken away from her.” But one thing is needful: and Mary has chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
