NASTextRec
And he looked up and saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury. And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
And he saw a poor widow putting in two leptos. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
And he said, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them; And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow has cast in more than they all:
for they all out of their surplus put into the offering; but she out of her poverty put in all that she had to live on.” For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury has cast in all the living that she had.
And while some were talking about the temple, that it was adorned with beautiful stones and votive gifts, he said, And as some spoke of the temple, how it was adorned with goodly stones and gifts, he said,
“As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.” As for these things which you behold, the days will come, in the which there shall not be left one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
21:7 Ἐπηρώτησαν δὲ αὐτὸν λέγοντες, διδάσκαλε, πότε οὖν ταῦτα ἔσται καὶ τί τὸ σημεῖον ὅταν μέλλῃ ταῦτα γίνεσθαι; 7 Ἐπηρώτησαν δὲ αὐτόν, λέγοντες, διδάσκαλε, πότε οὖν ταῦτα ἔσται;
καὶ τί τὸ σημεῖον, ὅταν μέλλῃ ταῦτα γίνεσθαι;
They questioned him, saying, “Teacher, when therefore will these things happen? And what will be the sign when these things are about to take place?” And they asked him, saying, Master, but when shall these things be? and what sign will there be when these things shall come to pass?
And he said, “See to it that you are not misled; for many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am He,’ and, ‘The time is near.’ Don’t go after them. And he said, Take heed that you be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go you not therefore after them.
When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified; for these things must take place first, but the end doesn’t follow immediately.” But when you shall hear of wars and commotions, be not terrified: for these things must first come to pass; but the end is not by and by.
Then he continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:
and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven. And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
“But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you, and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake.
It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony. And it shall turn to you for a testimony.
So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves; Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what you shall answer:
for I will give you utterance and wisdom which none of your opponents will be able to resist or refute. For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.
But you will be betrayed even by parents and brothers and relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death, And you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brothers, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death.
and you will be hated by all because of my name. And you shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.
Yet not a hair of your head will perish. But there shall not an hair of your head perish.
By your endurance you will gain your lives. In your patience possess you your souls.
“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near. And when you shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.
Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are in the midst of the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city; Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.
because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people; But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.
and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled under foot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.
“There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.” And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Then he told them a parable: “Behold the fig tree and all the trees; And he spoke to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
as soon as they put forth leaves, you see it and know for yourselves that summer is now near. When they now shoot forth, you see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
So you also, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near. So likewise you, when you see these things come to pass, know you that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.
Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.
“Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap; And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
for it will come upon all those who dwell on the face of all the earth. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
But keep on the alert at all times, praying that you may have strength to escape all these things that are about to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” Watch you therefore, and pray always, that you may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Now during the day he was teaching in the temple, but at evening he would go out and spend the night on the mount that is called Olivet. And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.
And all the people would get up early in the morning to come to him in the temple to listen to him. And all the people came early in the morning to him in the temple, for to hear him.
