Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread, which is called the Passover, was approaching. Now the feast of unleavened bread drew nigh, which is called the Passover.
The chief priests and the scribes were seeking how they might put him to death; for they were afraid of the people. And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him; for they feared the people.
And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iskariōt, belonging to the number of the twelve. Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iskariōt, being of the number of the twelve.
And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and officers how he might betray him to them. And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them.
They were glad and agreed to give him money. And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money.
So he consented, and began seeking a good opportunity to betray him to them apart from the crowd. And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude.
Then came the first day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb had to be sacrificed. Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed.
And Jesus sent Peter and Jōhn, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, so that we may eat it.” And he sent Peter and Jōhn, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.
22:9 οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, ποῦ θέλεις ἑτοιμάσωμεν; 9 οἱ δὲ εἶπον αὐτῷ, ποῦ θέλεις ἑτοιμάσωμεν;
They said to him, “Where do You want us to prepare it?” And they said unto him, Where will you that we prepare?
And he said to them, “When you have entered the city, a man will meet you carrying a pitcher of water; follow him into the house that he enters. And he said unto them, Behold, when you are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in.
22:11 καὶ ἐρεῖτε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ τῆς οἰκίας, λέγει σοι διδάσκαλος, ποῦ ἐστιν τὸ κατάλυμα ὅπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγω; 11 καὶ ἐρεῖτε τῷ οἰκοδεσπότῃ τῆς οἰκίας, λέγει σοι διδάσκαλος, ποῦ ἐστι τὸ κατάλυμα, ὅπου τὸ πάσχα μετὰ τῶν μαθητῶν μου φάγω;
And you shall say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room in which I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’ And you shall say unto the goodman of the house, The Master says unto you, Where is the guestchamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?
And he will show you a large, furnished upper room; prepare it there.” And he shall show you a large upper room furnished: there make ready.
And they left and found everything just as he had told them; and they prepared the Passover. And they went, and found as he had said unto them: and they made ready the passover.
When the hour had come, he reclined at the table, and the apostles with him. And when the hour was come, he sat down, and the twelve apostles with him.
And he said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer; And he said unto them, With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer:
for I say to you, I shall never again eat it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.” For I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God.
And when he had taken a cup and given thanks, he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves; And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and said, Take this, and divide it among yourselves:
for I say to you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.” For I say unto you, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine, until the kingdom of God shall come.
And when he had taken some bread and given thanks, he broke it and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: this do in remembrance of me.
And in the same way he took the cup after they had eaten, saying, “This cup which is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood. Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.
But behold, the hand of the one betraying me is with Mine on the table. But, behold, the hand of him that betrayeth me is with me on the table.
For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom he is betrayed!” And truly the Son of man goeth, as it was determined: but woe unto that man by whom he is betrayed!
And they began to discuss among themselves which one of them it might be who was going to do this thing. And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it was that should do this thing.
And there arose also a dispute among them as to which one of them was regarded to be greatest. And there was also a strife among them, which of them should be accounted the greatest.
And he said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who have authority over them are called ‘Benefactors.’ And he said unto them, The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors.
But it is not this way with you, but the one who is the greatest among you must become like the youngest, and the leader like the servant. But you shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that does serve.
22:27 τίς γὰρ μείζων, ἀνακείμενος διακονῶν;
οὐχὶ ἀνακείμενος;
27 τίς γὰρ μείζων, ἀνακείμενος, διακονῶν;
οὐχὶ ἀνακείμενος;
For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines at the table? But I am among you as the one who serves. For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth.
“You are those who have stood by me in my trials; You are they which have continued with me in my temptations.
and just as my Father has granted me a kingdom, I grant you And I appoint unto you a kingdom, as my Father has appointed unto me;
that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israēl. That you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israēl.
“Simōn, Simōn, behold, Satan has demanded permission to sift you like wheat; And the Lord said, Simōn, Simōn, behold, Satan has desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:
but I have prayed for you, that your faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” But I have prayed for you, that your faith fail not: and when you are converted, strengthen your brothers.
But he said to him, “Lord, with You I am ready to go both to prison and to death!” And he said unto him, Lord, I am ready to go with you, both into prison, and to death.

22:35 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων, μή τινος ὑστερήσατε;
35 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, ὅτε ἀπέστειλα ὑμᾶς ἄτερ βαλαντίου καὶ πήρας καὶ ὑποδημάτων, μή τινος ὑστερήσατε;
And he said to them, “When I sent you out without money belt and bag and sandals, you didn’t lack anything, did you?” They said, “No, nothing.” And he said unto them, When I sent you without purse, and scrip, and shoes, lacked you any thing? And they said, Nothing.
And he said to them, “But now, whoever has a money belt is to take it along, likewise also a bag, and whoever has no sword is to sell his coat and buy one. Then said he unto them, But now, he that has a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that has no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
For I tell you that this which is written must be fulfilled in me, ‘And he was numbered with transgressors’; for that which refers to me has its fulfillment.” For I say unto you, that this that is written must yet be accomplished in me, And he was reckoned among the transgressors: for the things concerning me have an end.

And he withdrew from them about a stone's throw, and he knelt down and began to pray, And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

Now an angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

Then Jesus said to the chief priests and officers of the temple and elders who had come against him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? Then Jesus said unto the chief priests, and captains of the temple, and the elders, which were come to him, Be you come out, as against a thief, with swords and staves?
While I was with you daily in the temple, you didn’t lay hands on me; but this hour and the power of darkness are yours.” When I was daily with you in the temple, you stretched forth no hands against me: but this is your hour, and the power of darkness.
Having arrested him, they led him away and brought him to the house of the high priest; but Peter was following at a distance. Then took they him, and led him, and brought him into the high priest's house. And Peter followed afar off.
After they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and had sat down together, Peter was sitting among them. And when they had kindled a fire in the midst of the hall, and were set down together, Peter sat down among them.
And a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, “This man was with him too.” But a certain maid beheld him as he sat by the fire, and earnestly looked upon him, and said, This man was also with him.
But he denied it, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.” And he denied him, saying, Woman, I know him not.
A little later, another saw him and said, “You are one of them too!” But Peter said, “Man, I am not!” And after a little while another saw him, and said, You are also of them. And Peter said, Man, I am not.
After about an hour had passed, another man began to insist, saying, “Certainly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean too.” And about the space of one hour after another confidently affirmed, saying, Of a truth this fellow also was with him: for he is a Galilaean.
But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about.” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed. And Peter said, Man, I know not what you sayest. And immediately, while he yet spoke, the cock crew.
The Lord turned and looked at Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had told him, “Before a rooster crows today, you will deny me three times.” And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, you shall deny me thrice.
And he went out and wept bitterly. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly.
Now the men who were holding Jesus in custody were mocking him and beating him, And the men that held Jesus mocked him, and smote him.
22:64 καὶ περικαλύψαντες αὐτὸν ἐπηρώτων λέγοντες, προφήτευσον, τίς ἐστιν παίσας σε; 64 καὶ περικαλύψαντες αὐτόν, ἔτυπτον αὐτοῦ τὸ πρόσωπον, καὶ ἐπηρώτων αὐτόν, λέγοντες, προφήτευσον, τίς ἐστιν παίσας σε;
and they blindfolded him and were asking him, saying, “Prophesy, who is the one who hit You?” And when they had blindfolded him, they struck him on the face, and asked him, saying, Prophesy, who is it that smote you?
And they were saying many other things against him, blaspheming. And many other things blasphemously spoke they against him.
When it was day, the Council of elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away to their council chamber, saying, And as soon as it was day, the elders of the people and the chief priests and the scribes came together, and led him into their council, saying,
“If You are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you will not believe; Art you the Christ? tell us. And he said unto them, If I tell you, you will not believe:
and if I ask a question, you will not answer. And if I also ask you, you will not answer me, nor let me go.
But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.” Hereafter shall the Son of man sit on the right hand of the power of God.
22:70 εἶπαν δὲ πάντες, σὺ οὖν εἶ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ;
70 εἶπον δὲ πάντες, σὺ οὖν εἶ υἱὸς τοῦ θεοῦ;
And they all said, “Are You the Son of God, then?” And he said to them, “Yes, I am.” Then said they all, Art you then the Son of God? And he said unto them, You say that I am.
22:71 οἱ δὲ εἶπαν, τί ἔτι ἔχομεν μαρτυρίας χρείαν;
71 οἱ δὲ εἶπον, τί ἔτι χρείαν ἔχομεν μαρτυρίας;
Then they said, “What further need do we have of testimony? For we have heard it ourselves from his own mouth.” And they said, What need we any further witness? for we ourselves have heard of his own mouth.
