David’s Psalm of Deliverance
1 And David spoke unto the LORD the words of this song in the day that the LORD had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר דָּוִד֙ לַֽיהוָ֔ה אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֖י הַשִּׁירָ֣ה הַזֹּ֑את בְּיֹום֩ הִצִּ֨יל יְהוָ֥ה אֹתֹ֛ו מִכַּ֥ף כָּל־אֹיְבָ֖יו וּמִכַּ֥ף שָׁאֽוּל׃

2 And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
וַיֹּאמַ֑ר יְהוָ֛ה סַֽלְעִ֥י וּמְצֻדָתִ֖י וּמְפַלְטִי־לִֽי׃

| 3 ὁ θεός μου φύλαξ ἔσται μου, πεποιθὼς ἔσομαι ἐπ’ αὐτῷ, ὑπερασπιστής μου καὶ κέρας σωτηρίας μου, ἀντιλήμπτωρ μου καὶ καταφυγή μου σωτηρίας μου, ἐξ ἀδίκου σώσεις με. | 3 ὁ Θεός μου φύλαξ μου ἔσται μοι, πεποιθὼς ἔσομαι ἐπ’ αὐτῷ, ὑπερασπιστής μου καὶ κέρας σωτηρίας μου, ἀντιλήπτωρ μου καὶ καταφυγή μου σωτηρίας μου, ἐξ ἀδίκου σώσεις με. |

מְהֻלָּ֖ל אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֑ה וּמֵאֹיְבַ֖י אִוָּשֵֽׁעַ׃

חֶבְלֵ֥י שְׁאֹ֖ול סַבֻּ֑נִי קִדְּמֻ֖נִי מֹֽקְשֵׁי־מָֽוֶת׃

7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.
בַּצַּר־לִי֙ אֶקְרָ֣א יְהוָ֔ה וְאֶל־אֱלֹהַ֖י אֶקְרָ֑א וַיִּשְׁמַ֤ע מֵהֵֽיכָלֹו֙ קֹולִ֔י וְשַׁוְעָתִ֖י בְּאָזְנָֽיו׃

עָלָ֤ה עָשָׁן֙ בְּאַפֹּ֔ו וְאֵ֥שׁ מִפִּ֖יו תֹּאכֵ֑ל גֶּחָלִ֖ים בָּעֲר֥וּ מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃

| 12 καὶ ἔθετο σκότος ἀποκρυφὴν αὐτοῦ, κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ σκότος ὑδάτων· ἐπάχυνεν ἐν νεφέλαις ἀέρος. | 12 καὶ ἔθετο σκότος ἀποκρυφὴν αὐτοῦ κύκλῳ αὐτοῦ, ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ σκότος ὑδάτων· ἐπάχυνεν ἐν νεφέλαις ἀέρος. |

וַיֵּֽרָאוּ֙ אֲפִ֣קֵי יָ֔ם יִגָּל֖וּ מֹסְדֹ֣ות תֵּבֵ֑ל בְּגַעֲרַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה מִנִּשְׁמַ֖ת ר֥וּחַ אַפֹּֽו׃
| 16 καὶ ὤφθησαν ἀφέσεις θαλάσσης, καὶ ἀπεκαλύφθη θεμέλια τῆς οἰκουμένης ἐν τῇ ἐπιτιμήσει κυρίου, ἀπὸ πνοῆς πνεύματος θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ. | 16 καὶ ὤφθησαν ἀφέσεις θαλάσσης, καὶ ἀπεκαλύφθη θεμέλια τῆς οἰκουμένης ἐν τῇ ἐπιτιμήσει Κυρίου, ἀπὸ πνοῆς πνεύματος θυμοῦ αὐτοῦ. |

| 18 ἐρρύσατό με ἐξ ἐχθρῶν μου ἰσχύος, ἐκ τῶν μισούντων με, ὅτι ἐκραταιώθησαν ὑπὲρ ἐμέ. | 18 ἐρρύσατό με ἐξ ἐχθρῶν μου ἰσχύος, ἐκ τῶν μισούντων με, ὅτι ἐκραταιώθησαν ὑπὲρ ἐμέ. |

וַיֹּצֵ֥א לַמֶּרְחָ֖ב אֹתִ֑י יְחַלְּצֵ֖נִי כִּי־חָ֥פֵֽץ בִּֽי׃

21 The LORD rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands has he recompensed me.
יִגְמְלֵ֥נִי יְהוָ֖ה כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹ֥ר יָדַ֖י יָשִׁ֥יב לִֽי׃
| 21 καὶ ἀνταπέδωκέν μοι κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου, κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τῶν χειρῶν μου ἀνταπέδωκέν μοι, | 21 καὶ ἀνταπέδωκέ μοι Κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου, καὶ κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τῶν χειρῶν μου ἀνταπέδωκέ μοι. |

22 For I have kept the ways of the LORD, and haven’t wickedly departed from my God.
כִּ֥י שָׁמַ֖רְתִּי דַּרְכֵ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹ֥א רָשַׁ֖עְתִּי מֵאֱלֹהָֽי׃
| 22 ὅτι ἐφύλαξα ὁδοὺς κυρίου καὶ οὐκ ἠσέβησα ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ μου, | 22 ὅτι ἐφύλαξα ὁδοὺς Κυρίου καὶ οὐκ ἠσέβησα ἀπὸ τοῦ Θεοῦ μου, |

23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I didn’t depart from them.
כִּ֥י כָל־ לְנֶגְדִּ֑י וְחֻקֹּתָ֖יו לֹא־אָס֥וּר מִמֶּֽנָּה׃
| 23 ὅτι πάντα τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ κατεναντίον μου, καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ, οὐκ ἀπέστην ἀπ’ αὐτῶν. | 23 ὅτι πάντα τὰ κρίματα αὐτοῦ κατεναντίον μου, καὶ τὰ δικαιώματα αὐτοῦ, οὐκ ἀπέστην ἀπ’ αὐτῶν. |

24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from my iniquity.
וָאֶהְיֶ֥ה תָמִ֖ים לֹ֑ו וָאֶשְׁתַּמְּרָ֖ה מֵעֲוֹנִֽי׃

25 Therefore the LORD has recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.
וַיָּ֧שֶׁב יְהוָ֛ה לִ֖י כְּצִדְקָתִ֑י כְּבֹרִ֖י לְנֶ֥גֶד עֵינָֽיו׃
| 25 καὶ ἀποδώσει μοι κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τῶν χειρῶν μου ἐνώπιον τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ. | 25 καὶ ἀποδώσει μοι Κύριος κατὰ τὴν δικαιοσύνην μου καὶ κατὰ τὴν καθαριότητα τῶν χειρῶν μου ἐνώπιον τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτοῦ. |

26 With the merciful you will show yourself merciful, and with the upright man you will show yourself upright.
עִם־חָסִ֖יד תִּתְחַסָּ֑ד עִם־גִּבֹּ֥ור תָּמִ֖ים תִּתַּמָּֽם׃

27 With the pure you will show yourself pure; and with the deceitful you will show yourself unsavoury.
עִם־נָבָ֖ר תִּתָּבָ֑ר וְעִם־עִקֵּ֖שׁ תִּתַּפָּֽל׃
| 27 καὶ μετὰ ἐκλεκτοῦ ἐκλεκτὸς ἔσῃ καὶ μετὰ στρεβλοῦ στρεβλωθήσῃ. | 27 καὶ μετὰ ἐκλεκτοῦ ἐκλεκτὸς ἔσῃ καὶ μετὰ στρεβλοῦ στρεβλωθήσῃ. |

28 And the afflicted people you will save: but your eyes are upon the haughty, that you may bring them down.
וְאֶת־עַ֥ם עָנִ֖י תֹּושִׁ֑יעַ וְעֵינֶ֖יךָ עַל־רָמִ֥ים תַּשְׁפִּֽיל׃
