After the uproar had ceased, Paul sent for the disciples, and when he had exhorted them and taken his leave of them, he left to go to Macedonia. | And after the uproar was ceased, Paul called unto him the disciples, and embraced them, and departed for to go into Macedonia. |
When he had gone through those districts and had given them much exhortation, he came to Greece. | And when he had gone over those parts, and had given them much exhortation, he came into Greece, |

And there he spent three months, and when a plot was formed against him by the Jews as he was about to set sail for Syria, he decided to return through Macedonia. | And there abode three months. And when the Jews laid wait for him, as he was about to sail into Syria, he purposed to return through Macedonia. |

And he was accompanied by Sopater of Berea, the son of Pyrrhus, and by Aristarchus and Secundus of the Thessalonians, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy, and Tychicus and Trophimus of Asia Minor. | And there accompanied him into Asia Minor Sopater of Berea; and of the Thessalonians, Aristarchus and Secundus; and Gaius of Derbe, and Timotheus; and of Asia Minor, Tychicus and Trophimus. |
But these had gone on ahead and were waiting for us at Troas. | These going before tarried for us at Troas. |
We sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread, and came to them at Troas within five days; and there we stayed seven days. | And we sailed away from Philippi after the days of unleavened bread, and came unto them to Troas in five days; where we abode seven days. |
On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread, Paul began talking to them, intending to leave the next day, and he prolonged his message until midnight. | And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight. |
There were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered together. | And there were many lights in the upper chamber, where they were gathered together. |
And there was a young man named Eutychus sitting on the window sill, sinking into a deep sleep; and as Paul kept on talking, he was overcome by sleep and fell down from the third floor and was picked up dead. | And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead. |

But Paul went down and fell upon him, and after embracing him, he said, “Don’t be troubled, for his life is in him.” | And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him. |
When he had gone back up and had broken the bread and eaten, he talked with them a long while until daybreak, and then left. | When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed. |
They took away the boy alive, and were greatly comforted. | And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted. |

But we, going ahead to the ship, set sail for Assos, intending from there to take Paul on board; for so he had arranged it, intending himself to go by land. | And we went before to ship, and sailed unto Assos, there intending to take in Paul: for so had he appointed, minding himself to go afoot. |
And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board and came to Mitylene. | And when he met with us at Assos, we took him in, and came to Mitylene. |

Sailing from there, we arrived the following day opposite Chios; and the next day we crossed over to Samos; and the day following we came to Miletus. | And we sailed thence, and came the next day over against Chios; and the next day we arrived at Samos, and tarried at Trogyllium; and the next day we came to Miletus. |

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus so that he would not have to spend time in Asia Minor; for he was hurrying to be in Jerusalem, if possible, on the day of Pentecost. | For Paul had determined to sail by Ephesus, because he would not spend the time in Asia Minor: for he hasted, if it were possible for him, to be at Jerusalem the day of Pentecost. |
From Miletus he sent to Ephesus and called to him the elders of the church. | And from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church. |
And when they had come to him, he said to them, “You yourselves know, from the first day that I set foot in Asia Minor, how I was with you the whole time, | And when they were come to him, he said unto them, You know, from the first day that I came into Asia Minor, after what manner I have been with you at all seasons, |
serving the Lord with all humility and with tears and with trials which came upon me through the plots of the Jews; | Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears, and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews: |
how I didn’t shrink from declaring to you anything that was profitable, and teaching you publicly and from house to house, | And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have showed you, and have taught you publicly, and from house to house, |
solemnly testifying to both Jews and Greeks of repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. | Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. |
And now, behold, bound by the Spirit, I am on my way to Jerusalem, not knowing what will happen to me there, | And now, behold, I go bound in the spirit unto Jerusalem, not knowing the things that shall befall me there: |
except that the Holy Spirit solemnly testifies to me in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions await me. | Save that the Holy Ghost witnesseth in every city, saying that bonds and afflictions abide me. |
But I don’t consider my life of any account as dear to myself, so that I may finish my course and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify solemnly of the gospel of the grace of God. | But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. |
“And now, behold, I know that all of you, among whom I went about preaching the kingdom, will no longer see my face. | And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, shall see my face no more. |
Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. | Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. |
For I didn’t shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. | For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. |
Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with his own blood. | Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood. |
I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; | For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. |
and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. | Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. |
Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I didn’t cease to admonish each one with tears. | Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears. |
And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. | And now, brothers, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. |
I have coveted no one's silver or gold or clothes. | I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel. |
You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. | Yea, you yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me. |
In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’” | I have showed you all things, how that so labouring you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive. |
When he had said these things, he knelt down and prayed with them all. | And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all. |

grieving especially over the word which he had spoken, that they would not see his face again. And they were accompanying him to the ship. | Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spoke, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship. |
