NAS | TextRec |
---|---|
Now on the same occasion there were some present who reported to him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. | There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans, whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. |
And Jesus said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were greater sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this fate? | And Jesus answering said unto them, Suppose you that these Galilaeans were sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things? |
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. | I tell you, Nay: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish. |
Or do you suppose that those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them were worse culprits than all the men who live in Jerusalem? | Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, think you that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? |
I tell you, no, but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” | I tell you, Nay: but, except you repent, you shall all likewise perish. |
δὲ
τὴν
And he began telling this parable: “A man had a fig tree which had been planted in his vineyard; and he came looking for fruit on it and didn’t find any. | He spoke also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. |

And he said to the vineyard-keeper, ‘Behold, for three years I have come looking for fruit on this fig tree without finding any. Cut it down! Why does it even use up the ground?’ | Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? |
And he answered and said to him, ‘Let it alone, sir, for this year too, until I dig around it and put in fertilizer; | And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: |

and if it bears fruit next year, fine; but if not, cut it down.’” | And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that you shall cut it down. |
And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. | And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath. |
And there was a woman who for eighteen years had had a sickness caused by a spirit; and she was bent double, and could not straighten up at all. | And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together, and could in no wise lift up herself. |
When Jesus saw her, he called her over and said to her, “Woman, you are freed from your sickness.” | And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. |
13:13 καὶ

13 καὶ

And he laid his hands on her; and immediately she was made erect again and began glorifying God. | And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God. |

But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, “There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day.” | And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. |
But the Lord answered him and said, “You hypocrites, doesn’t each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or his donkey from the stall and lead him away to water him? | The Lord then answered him, and said, You hypocrite, does not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering? |
And this woman, a daughter of Abraham as she is, whom Satan has bound for eighteen long years, should she not have been released from this bond on the Sabbath day?” | And ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the sabbath day? |

As he said this, all his opponents were being humiliated; and the entire crowd was rejoicing over all the glorious things being done by him. | And when he had said these things, all his adversaries were ashamed: and all the people rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him. |

So he was saying, “What is the kingdom of God like, and to what shall I compare it? | Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? |

It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and threw into his own garden; and it grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.” | It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it. |
And again he said, “To what shall I compare the kingdom of God? | And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? |
It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three pecks of flour until it was all leavened.” | It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened. |
And he was passing through from one city and village to another, teaching, and proceeding on his way to Jerusalem. | And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. |

Once the head of the house gets up and shuts the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock on the door, saying, ‘Lord, open up to us!’ then he will answer and say to you, ‘I don’t know where you are from.’ | When once the master of the house is risen up, and has shut to the door, and you begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence you are: |

In that place there will be weeping and grinding of teeth when you see Abraham and Isaac and Jacōb and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but yourselves being thrown out. | There shall be weeping and grinding of teeth, when you shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacōb, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. |
And they will come from east and west and from north and south, and will recline at the table in the kingdom of God. | And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. |
And behold, some are last who will be first and some are first who will be last.” | And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. |
Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to him, “Go away, leave here, for Hērōd wants to kill You.” | The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him, Get you out, and depart hence: for Hērōd will kill you. |
And he said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I reach my goal.’ | And he said unto them, Go you, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected. |

Nevertheless I must journey on today and tomorrow and the next day; for it cannot be that a prophet would perish outside of Jerusalem. | Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem. |
O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, just as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not have it! | O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto you; how often would I have gathered your children together, as a hen does gather her brood under her wings, and you would not! |

Behold, your house is left to you desolate; and I say to you, you will not see me until the time comes when you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’” | Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, You shall not see me, until the time come when you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord. |
