The First Epistle of Paul to the Corinthians parallel Greek texts

Chapter 15

NASTextRec
Now I make known to you, brothers, the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received, in which also you stand, Moreover, brothers, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also you have received, and wherein you stand;
by which also you are saved, if you hold fast the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain. By which also you are saved, if you keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless you have believed in vain.
For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
and that he was buried, and that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:
After that he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; After that, he was seen of above five hundred brothers at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.
then he appeared to Jacōb, then to all the apostles; After that, he was seen of Jacōb; then of all the apostles.
and last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared to me also. And last of all he was seen of me also, as of one born out of due time.
For I am the least of the apostles, and not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace toward me didn’t prove vain; but I laboured even more than all of them, yet not I, but the grace of God with me. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
Whether then it was I or they, so we preach and so you believed. Therefore whether it were I or they, so we preach, and so you believed.
15:12 Εἰ δὲ Χριστὸς κηρύσσεται ὅτι ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγήγερται, πῶς λέγουσιν ἐν ὑμῖν τινες ὅτι ἀνάστασις νεκρῶν οὐκ ἔστιν; 12 Εἰ δὲ Χριστὸς κηρύσσεται, ὅτι ἐκ νεκρῶν ἐγήγερται, πῶς λέγουσί τινες ἐν ὑμῖν ὅτι ἀνάστασις νεκρῶν οὐκ ἔστιν;
Now if Christ is preached, that he has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.
Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that he raised Christ, whom he didn’t raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised:
and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; you are yet in your sins.
Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished.
If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.
For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all will be made alive. For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ's at his coming, But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.
then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when he has abolished all rule and all authority and power. Then comes the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. For he must reign, till he has put all enemies under his feet.
The last enemy that will be abolished is death. The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
For he has put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he says, “All things are put in subjection,” it is evident that he is excepted who put all things in subjection to him. For he has put all things under his feet. But when he says all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
When all things are subjected to him, then the Son himself also will be subjected to the One who subjected all things to him, so that God may be all in all. And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
15:29 Ἐπεὶ τί ποιήσουσιν οἱ βαπτιζόμενοι ὑπὲρ τῶν νεκρῶν;
εἰ ὅλως νεκροὶ οὐκ ἐγείρονται, τί καὶ βαπτίζονται ὑπὲρ αὐτῶν;
29 Ἐπεὶ τί ποιήσουσιν οἱ βαπτιζόμενοι ὑπὲρ τῶν νεκρῶν, εἰ ὅλως νεκροὶ οὐκ ἐγείρονται;
τί καὶ βαπτίζονται ὑπὲρ τῶν νεκρῶν;
Otherwise, what will those do who are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them? Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead, if the dead rise not at all? why are they then baptized for the dead?
15:30 Τί καὶ ἡμεῖς κινδυνεύομεν πᾶσαν ὥραν; 30 Τί καὶ ἡμεῖς κινδυνεύομεν πᾶσαν ὥραν;
Why are we also in danger every hour? And why stand we in jeopardy every hour?
I affirm, brothers, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily. I protest by your rejoicing which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
15:32 εἰ κατὰ ἄνθρωπον ἐθηριομάχησα ἐν Ἐφέσῳ, τί μοι τὸ ὄφελος;
32 εἰ κατὰ ἄνθρωπον ἐθηριομάχησα ἐν Ἐφέσῳ, τί μοι τὸ ὄφελος, εἰ νεκροὶ οὐκ ἐγείρονται;
If from human motives I fought with wild beasts at Ephesus, what does it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die. If after the manner of men I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantageth it me, if the dead rise not? let us eat and drink; for to morrow we die.
Don’t be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.” Be not deceived: “evil communications corrupt good manners.”
Become sober-minded as you ought, and stop sinning; for some have no knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.
15:35 Ἀλλὰ ἐρεῖ τις, πῶς ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροί;
ποίῳ δὲ σώματι ἔρχονται;
35 ἀλλ᾿ ἐρεῖ τις, πῶς ἐγείρονται οἱ νεκροί;
ποίῳ δὲ σώματι ἔρχονται;
But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?” But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?
You fool! That which you sow doesn’t come to life unless it dies; You fool, that which you sowest is not quickened, except it die:
and that which you sow, you don’t sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. And that which you sowest, you sowest not that body that shall be, but bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other grain:
But God gives it a body just as he wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. But God giveth it a body as it has pleased him, and to every seed his own body.
All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
it is sown in dishonour, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
So also it is written, “The first man, Adam, became a living soul.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.
However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural; then the spiritual. Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.
The first man is from the earth, earthy; the second man is from heaven. The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man is the Lord from heaven.
As is the earthy, so also are those who are earthy; and as is the heavenly, so also are those who are heavenly. As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
Just as we have borne the image of the earthy, we will also bear the image of the heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Now this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
Listen! I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, Listen! I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, “Death is swallowed up in victory. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
15:55 ποῦ σου, θάνατε, τὸ νῖκος;
ποῦ σου, θάνατε, τὸ κέντρον;
55 ποῦ σου, θάνατε, τὸ κέντρον;
ποῦ σου, ᾅδη, τὸ νῖκος;
O death, where is your victory? Oh death, where is your sting?” O death, where is your sting? Oh grave, where is your victory?
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be you stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as you know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
